Epizootic diseases

Epizootics are epidemic outbreak of disease in an animal population, often with the implication that it may extend to humans.

The legislation of epizootics inlcudes regulations on how controls and reporting are to be done with regard to notifiable diseases that are not normally found in Sweden. The staff at SVA are available on a round-the-clock basis for advice and diagnostics.

Information on all epizootic diseases can be found at the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
