AI analysis of Next Generation Sequencing data to identify infectious agents and their properties
The project focuses on making AI based methods available at SVA that
can analyze data from so-called Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). NGS is a
method that generates
millions of sequence reads of short randomly selected regions in genetic
material. The aim of
the project is to test and adapt AI-based analysis of NGS data for
identification of microbiological infectious agents and diagnostically
important properties of these such as virulence and antibiotic resistance.
