Interpreting genetic variability in microorganisms
Whole genome sequencing has become a standard analysis in microbiological research and is also beginning to be used on a large scale in surveillance programs and in outbreak investigations. Very large amounts of data are generated. This project is bioinformatically oriented and focuses primarily on methods for analyzing, visualizing and interpreting the genetic variation in the large datasets generated in surveillance programs for infectious microorganisms.
