Surveillance of pathogens and antibiotic resistance in rodents in contact with animals and humans

National Veterinary Institute (SVA) preforme routine disease surveillance in wild animals. In collaboration with Anticimex who trap rats as part of their pest control, we are investigating whether rats should be included in wildlife monitoring. The purpose of the study is to map which pathogens and antibiotic-resistant bacteria rats carry and which may risk infecting other animals and humans.
